               New Media Course Reflection

              A. One thing I liked about this class is the fact that everyone has their space to express what they think and what they agree on threw their blogger. Another thing I liked about this class is it helped  me reflect on my mistakes and I am given new quotes to learn from and share. I liked everything about this class I do not have anything to complain about.

             B. I don't think this class has to improve in anything I think it is perfectly ran and managed.

             C. Yes, I tried my best in this class because this class is very important and will help me with my career in the future.

             D. Yes, every day I set myself  new goals and I reread my previously written goals to see if I have achieved any.

             E. Yes, I am committed to being a CTR person because I want to achieve and be a successful person physically, mentally, and spiritually.

            F. I will promise to always think about the options I have to make a decision  and make sure  it will help my Body-Mind- and Spirit.
                              Final: Part 1

The students that were chosen to be in my Interdisciplinary Project were Damian Manzo, Monica Munguia, Mariana Munoz, Stephanie Cruz, and Alexandra Toxqui. Our theme of the project was Fitness and Nutrition and our topic was, " Should every citizen be required to work out 3 times a week or face penalties?

My group and I chose to agree with this topic because Huntington Park is ranked the #1 city with the most obese citizens. This rank helped us make our decision because we need the people that live in Huntington Park to be healthier. After we made our decision, we chose the role we wanted to play in the presentation. Monica chose the introduction, Mariana chose evidence #1 and Alexandra received evidence #2. Also, Damian got the graph, I chose the rebuttal, and Stephanie received the conclusion.

As the week of the presentation got closer, we got more nervous and anxious. Our group was not very prepared because the members did not arrive to the meeting. I spent day and night trying to memorize my part of the presentation and working on ways to sound better.  On the day of  our presentation, all of the members of the group were panicking because our presentation was scheduled at 4:45 and there was no sign of Damian. I was very nervous because some of the members had not yet memorized their part or had showed up.

It was 4:45 and we entered the room to present. My group and I were willing to present without Damian's presence. It was almost Damian's turn to present when we heard a knock on the door. Damian had arrived to do his part of the presentation.  I was nervous and I stuttered a while when it was my turn to present. When Stephanie finished presenting, the panel did not ask any questions and we left the room. We had finally finished after so much work! This experience helped me prepare for the presentation next semester.

                                              "When I do good,
                             I feel good.
                         When I do bad,
                             I feel bad."

                       Abraham Lincoln

Reflection: I like this quote because it gets straight to the meaning. Either you do good and feel good or you do bad and feel bad. For example, when you help your family do chores, you did good therefore you feel good. Another example is when you finish your homework on time, that feels good. Arguing with your parents is bad, that is why you feel bad after. Robbing is not good and after you do it you feel guilty, bad, and ashamed. It is always best to do what is right and good.

                     You Are in Charge
                                                             December 15, 2014

" Take responsibility for your own body, mind, and spirit, for your own physical, mental, and spiritual well-being."

                                         -Mr. Haymore

Reflection: I believe this quote is wonderful and amazing because I also believe that people should take responsibility for what their mind thinks, what actions their bodies make, and if we are spiritually active. we should be able to recognize and claim what we think, what we do, and what we believe. I am glad these words were put together to create this spectacular quote.

"We need the courage to start and continue what we should do, and the courage to stop what we shouldn't do."

                          Richard L. Evans

Reflection: I agree with this quote because I always believe more people should start being courageous and facing what they have to do, not just staying quiet because they are not brave enough. I also believe that if there is a person who has children for example, and is a drug-user and/or alcoholic, they should be courageous and quit for the future of their  children. Many people want to make changes and have some amazing ideas the only reason they are not successful is because they are not courageous and therefor they don't accomplish their dreams.

                    The Sting of The Scorpion
                                   December 9, 2014

One day, a seven-year-old boy named, Patrick and his family went camping in the desert. Patrick, his parents, and others were sitting outside there tent barefoot on a mat when Patrick decided he should go for a stroll. He was debating whether or not to wear his shoes like his parents would always remind him to, or to go for a walk in sandals. Patrick decided to go for a walk in sandals because he did not plan on leaving far from were his family was camping. He had been walking for about 2 minutes when he felt a sudden painful sting on his leg. When he looked down, Patrick saw a giant, black scorpion walking away from his leg. He began to yell in pain and his parents arrived to see what was wrong. His parents carried him to the car, and drove for about 2 hours until they finally reached the nearest hospital. The doctor attended Patrick and gave him an injection on the leg to numb the pain. After this experience, Patrick learned to always listen to his parents and always wear his shoes.

Reflection: I am thankful to have been able to hear this story because it is someone else's mistake, that I learned from. I am amazed and happy that Patrick survived the sting of the scorpion at such a young age. I hope that Patrick nor anyone else eve gets stung by a scorpion again and I thank Patrick for sharing his story.

                                   " Always do right."

                                                                Mark Twain

Reflection: I agree with Mark Twain because I believe we should always choose and do what's right. There are moments when you have to make a really hard decision and you have two options whether to choose the right or choose the wrong, deep down you know that if you make the correct decision, you will feel better and be proud of yourself because you did what was right.

When You Tell One Lie it Leads to Another
                                                                 Paul Hatch

When you tell one lie, it leads to another                   So you lie without even trying
So you tell two lies to cover each other                    And each lie you tell will keep
Then you tell three lies and, Oh Brother,                               multiplying
You're in trouble up to your ears!                         Till the whole wide world will know
So you tell four lies to try to protect you                                you're lying
Then you tell five lies so folks don't suspect                        Then you'll be
                              you                                                             Suspected
                                                                                                 Detected
Then you tell six lies and you'll collect                                    Rejected
A life filled with worries and fears                                         Neglected
'Cause you can't remember how many lies                               Disliked
               you've told                                                              And you should!
And half the things you say aren't true                 When you lie, you're closing the door
And sometime you'll slip up, you'll trip up                        On everything good
                   and then
     Whatever will become of you?

"When you tell one lie, it leads to another."

                              Paul Hatch

Reflection: I do not agree with this quote because it does not make sense for many occasions. One day someone can get tired of lying and can confess all their lies; that would not lead to another lie. Some lies are not continuous and end at some point. What I'm trying to say is sometimes, at one point, someone will decide they do not want to lie anymore and will speak with the truth.

              Student Success Statement
                                                             December 3, 2014

                  1.    Can people trust me to do what's right?

             2.   Am I committed to doing my very best?

             3.   Do I treat people the way I want to be treated?

                                          Lou Holtz

" If the answers to these questions are YES, there is no way you can fail."

Reflection: I agree with the quote because I also think that if we are trustworthy, determined, and respected we can achieve any goal we set for ourselves. I believe that having these three virtues will help you win, achieve, and gain, not fail.

                       Physical Fitness

"Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body, it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity. The relationship between the soundness of the body and the activities of the mind is subtle and complex. Much is not yet understood. But we do know what the Greeks knew: that intelligence and skill can only function at the peak of their capacity when the body is healthy and strong."

                            President John F. Kennedy

Reflection: I agree with President Kennedy and his words because I think they make complete sense. I also believe that our physical fitness is a very important item in our life and I personally think that people in my community should focus more on their physical fitness. Without physical fitness it is difficult to achieve what we want if we can not make actions due to the fact that we are not fit.
                           Dermatologist
                                                                   December 1, 2014

Duties and Responsibilities: The  responsibilities of  dermatologists are to  fix hair, nails, and skin diseases.

Salary: The median annual salary for a dermatologist is $307,726.

Education: You must have a Pre-Medical Degree, Medical Degree, and Dermatology Training in order to become a dermatologist.

Reflection: I would not like to become a dermatologist because the job involves touching people and their skins and i do not like to have contact with other people. I believe each person should be in charge of their own skin and health. Another reason why i would not like to become a dermatologist is because having this job will get me sick often due to the fact that i will always have to be having contact with others.
