            A Choice: Poverty or Prosperity

" I hated poverty. Poverty is more of a choice than anything else, and I can change that (poverty). it depends upon how hard I want to work, and I decided that I would change it."

                                       Dr. Ben Carson

Reflection: These words are just so amazing I am very shocked. I mean, I love the fact that Mr. Carson puts action and meaning into his words. The way I see this quote is that if you want to change something you must work hard for it and that is an incredible thing in life. These words made an amazing impact in my life and I am very thankful for having the opportunity to have learned this quote.

      Never, because...
"You can't be right doing wrong; you can't be wrong by doing right."

                            Thomas S. Monson

Reflection: I absolutely agree with this quote because I also believe that you can never do wrong that can turn into right thing. I also agree with this intelligent quote because you must always choose the right and do the right thing!

               Eastern Medicine Doctor
                                    January 28, 2015

Duties and Responsibilities: The responsibility of an eastern medicine doctor is to cure patients in a way that involves the environment.

Salary: The median annual salary for an eastern medicine doctor is approximately $58,958.

Education: The requirements for becoming an eastern medicine doctor are:

  • Naturopathic medicine degree
  • D.N.M. License

Reflection: Pursuing a career like an eastern medicine doctor is interesting and seems entertaining but I am not convinced that I want this career as an adult. I do not really like to mix with medicines that have to deal with plants and herbs, I prefer laboratory-made medicines. However, I do think the job is nice and enjoyable but it is not what I am looking for.

             "Enthusiasm makes the difference."

                              Dr. Norman Vincent Peale

Reflection: I agree with Dr. Norman Vincent Peale because I also believe that if someone is not enthused about doing something, then they will not succeed in completing their task because they are not dedicated. When I am enthused about completing a task in school I try the best at completing it, but when I am not excited I try, but I am not as satisfied.

" I wasn't trying to leave a legacy. I was trying                      to do what was right."

                                       Dean Smith

Reflection:  I admire Mr. Dean Smith because he didn't coach to win, he coached to learn, teach, and discipline. I personally think he was a good man for focusing on several goals in life, not just making sure his team won every basketball game. I wish I had an opportunity to meet him, although I doubt I ever will. However, I am glad there are books about and from him so I can get to know him better.

" It's not about how to achieve your dreams. It's about how to lead your life. If you lead your life the right way, the karma (destiny, fortune, and good luck) will take care of itself. The dreams will come to you."

                                   Dr. Randy Pausch

Reflection: I agree with Dr. Randy Pausch because I also believe that if we lead our life the correct way we will will be achieving our goals and dreams at the same time as living the right way. I appreciate that I was shown this quote because it has now become one of my motto's.

The job seems very interesting but the time course is what interrupts my desire for this career.

                         Current Event
                                                           January 15, 2015

Recently, 13-year-old girl and her 18-year-old boyfriend are wanted by the police in Kentucky. Cheyenne Phillips and her boyfriend Dalton Hayes, robbed 2 trucks before running away on January 4 after being confronted about the couples' underage-relationship. Dalton's mother claims Cheyeene led her to think she was 19, not 13.  The couple has been missing for 11 days and are being accused of stealing.

I honestly believe that this is very wrong starting with Cheyenne. She shouldn't have lied to anyone about her age. In addition, I assume Dalton knew her age because it isn't that hard to find out the background of your partner. I don't think it is right that an adult ran away with an underage girl because you do not know what Dalton is capable of when they are alone together.

“Every time I've done something that

doesn't feel right,

it has ended up not being right.“

Mario Cuomo

Reflection:
I agree with this quote because when I was younger and didn't do the right things all the time, I wouldn't be sure if to make the right or wrong decision and so it did wend up being wrong. I think this situation happens with everyone that does not know how hard consequences can end up being. I find this quote very inspiring and I wish more people can read it so it can have a positive impact to them as it was to me.

"Intelligence plus character, that is the goal to true       education."

                                                 M.L.  King Jr.

Reflection: I agree with Martin Luther King's quote because those two qualities for example, are what make teachers great. Without intelligence and character, teachers don't have respect from the class nor do they have anything to teach the students because they have no educational knowledge. Another example is you can not become a successful lawyer if you do not have intelligence or character. I completely agree with Mr. King.
