                    The Sting of The Scorpion
                                   December 9, 2014

One day, a seven-year-old boy named, Patrick and his family went camping in the desert. Patrick, his parents, and others were sitting outside there tent barefoot on a mat when Patrick decided he should go for a stroll. He was debating whether or not to wear his shoes like his parents would always remind him to, or to go for a walk in sandals. Patrick decided to go for a walk in sandals because he did not plan on leaving far from were his family was camping. He had been walking for about 2 minutes when he felt a sudden painful sting on his leg. When he looked down, Patrick saw a giant, black scorpion walking away from his leg. He began to yell in pain and his parents arrived to see what was wrong. His parents carried him to the car, and drove for about 2 hours until they finally reached the nearest hospital. The doctor attended Patrick and gave him an injection on the leg to numb the pain. After this experience, Patrick learned to always listen to his parents and always wear his shoes.

Reflection: I am thankful to have been able to hear this story because it is someone else's mistake, that I learned from. I am amazed and happy that Patrick survived the sting of the scorpion at such a young age. I hope that Patrick nor anyone else eve gets stung by a scorpion again and I thank Patrick for sharing his story.
