1. Who was St. Patrick?

Saint Patrick was a  British man who was a Christian and bishop missionary in Ireland. In Ireland, he was the man who could make many miracles happen so the people admired and honored him. Also, he informed and helped convert many Irish people into Christians. 

2. What is the purpose of St. Patrick's Day? 
The purpose of St. Patrick's Day is to celebrate the feast by which was intended for St. Patrick. He was known to be The Saint of Ireland. Patrick died on March 17 and in his honor we celebrate on the same date.

3.Why is St. Patrick's Day designated when it is?
In honor of St. Patrick, people celebrate on the day he died to pray and give thanks for several things, including St. Patrick. Irish people chose that day to celebrate because it was the last day he lived and they cherish it very much. 

4. Why is a certain color used on St. Patrick's Day? 
One reason why we wear green on St. Patrick's Day is because this is a Irish holiday and one of the colors on their flag is green. Another reason why we wear green on this holiday is because it is the color of peace, spring, and grass,and these things are appreciated in Ireland. 

5. Why do we get pinched on St. Patrick's Day? 
A myth is told that if you do not wear green, leprechauns and fairies will begin to sneak up on you and pinch you. People begin to see this amusing and so if you do not wear green on March 17 you will get pinched.
